The Water Brothers Season 5 Wins 2024 CSA Award

SK Films is pleased to announce that the fifth season of its eco-adventure series, The Water Brothers, has won the Rob Stewart Award for Best Science or Nature Documentary Program or Series at the 2024 Canadian Screen Awards, which took place on May 30th and celebrates excellence on-screen in film, television and digital media categories and presented by The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. The annual awards were presented over four days during Canadian Screen Week 2024, beginning May 28th

Alex and Tyler Mifflin, the Water Brothers themselves and the series’ passionate creators, accepted the award alongside series executive producer and SK Films CEO, Wendy MacKeigan. “Thanks to the Academy for this incredible award. We also want to thank everyone who has shared their story with us over the past twelve years,” Alex said. “We’re so excited to be recognized by our talented peers in the Canadian industry, and we’re very grateful to TVO for believing in The Water Brothers for five seasons” Tyler added, “being able to tell these meaningful water-based stories has been such an honour, and we can’t thank the Academy enough, alongside our colleagues and collaborators, for this recognition.”

The Water Brothers follows Alex and Tyler as they investigate the challenges facing our oceans and shared, freshwater ecosystems and how we can work together to solve them. Join the brothers as they explore Canada’s biodiverse wetlands, get surrounded by polar bears, beluga whales and giant herds of caribou on the shores of Hudson Bay and descend into one of the deepest mines in the world to find the world’s oldest water.

The Water Brothers fifth season is currently available to stream online at www.thewaterbrothers.ca and is also available online on TVO Docs YouTube and other TVO streaming service.
